MPC Couriers quote-request app
Your information and privacy
This notice covers the MPC Couriers mobile quote-request app and its quote service. Our main website has its own website privacy policy.
Who is responsible
Coulson Ventures Limited trading as MPC Couriers is responsible for the personal information used to handle your quote request. For privacy enquiries or requests about your information, contact info@mpccouriers.co.uk or call 0800 688 9002.
What you provide
- Your name, email address, telephone number and any company details you enter.
- Collection and delivery postcodes, addresses, site contacts, dates and timing requirements.
- Goods descriptions, quantities, weights, dimensions, handling requirements, dangerous-goods or battery details and other notes.
- Photos and documents you choose to attach, including information or metadata within those files.
Please provide only information needed to assess your request. If you give another person's contact details, make sure you are entitled to share them and tell them about this notice. Required fields are marked in the app; without sufficient information we may be unable to assess or respond to your request.
How the app uses information
You can save drafts on your device, reopen them and remove them. Sending a request shares its contents with MPC so our team can assess the goods and route, contact you and prepare a quote. The service records a request reference and technical retry information to help prevent duplicate submissions. A submitted request is not a confirmed price or booking.
Our team makes the quote and booking decisions. The app does not make decisions about people with legal or similarly significant effects. App submissions do not subscribe you to marketing.
Why we use it
For a quote you request personally, we use the information needed to take steps at your request before entering a contract. For business enquiries and other people's operational contact details, we rely on our legitimate interests in assessing courier enquiries and contacting the relevant people. We also rely on legitimate interests to prevent misuse and keep the service secure.
We balance these purposes against your rights, limit information to what is needed and provide a way to object. The app's submission confirmation does not give permission for unrelated marketing.
Where information goes
- MPC's quote service: request data and uploaded files are stored on the Hostinger server in Manchester for authorised staff to review.
- Brevo: sends a staff notification containing the submitted details, customer reply address, file names and scan results. Uploaded file contents are not attached to that email.
- Google Gmail: stores the notification received in MPC's mailbox.
- Cloudflare: protects the staff portal and carries the information displayed there, including request details and files opened by authorised staff. It also handles staff sign-in and access information.
Hosting, email and access providers may process network, account and service information needed to operate their services. Opening the main website or another external link takes you to that service's separate privacy practices.
International processing
The main quote server is in Manchester. Brevo reports database hosting in the European Union. Our providers and their support teams or subprocessors can also process information outside the UK. Hostinger and Cloudflare publish data-processing terms with UK transfer provisions; Brevo publishes data-processing terms and transfer safeguards. Google describes its use of adequacy decisions, the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses where applicable.
For details, see Hostinger's data-processing terms, Brevo's data-processing terms, Cloudflare's data-processing terms and Google's transfer safeguards. Contact MPC if you need further information about the safeguards relevant to your request.
How long information is kept
| Quote service | Requests and uploaded files are scheduled for deletion after 90 days from receipt, regardless of their review status. Booking and accounting records held separately follow their own retention requirements. |
|---|---|
| Your drafts | Drafts remain in the app until you delete them or remove the app's data. Device backups may retain earlier copies. |
| Email copies | MPC reviews its app-notification emails monthly and removes copies older than 90 days that are no longer needed for an ongoing booking, dispute or legal obligation. This can take up to the next monthly review. Required business correspondence is handled separately. Brevo is set to retain transactional logs for one month and not save previews of new emails. Removing a server request does not automatically remove its mailbox copy. |
| Backups and security records | Daily application backups are kept privately on the server for seven days after completion. Hostinger separately keeps the two most recent weekly server backups. These can include earlier application backups, so a deleted request can remain in a backup until the relevant copies rotate out. Backups are used for recovery; deletion and notification controls must be reapplied before a restored service is reopened. Failed backup or deletion jobs require operator attention. Service and security logs are retained for up to 30 days on the server; request bodies and customer-facing access logs are not deliberately recorded. Cloudflare currently retains Free-plan Access logs for 24 hours and account administration logs for 18 months. Providers may retain other necessary security, account or legal records under their own policies. |
Local drafts, files and device access
The app uses your device's file picker for files you select. It does not ask for GPS, microphone or contacts access. Saved draft files are kept in the app's own storage. Removing a draft deletes that saved copy, not the original file you selected and not a request already sent to MPC. Device backups may contain earlier copies; deleting a local draft cannot erase those backups.
The app does not include advertising or analytics SDKs in the reviewed source. This does not prevent the app store, operating system or service providers from processing their own operational information.
Your choices and rights
You can contact us to ask for access, correction or deletion, or to exercise other applicable data-protection rights, including restriction, objection and portability. These rights depend on the circumstances and lawful basis. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. Include your request reference if you have it, but do not send identity documents unless we explain why they are needed.
Deleting a local draft does not withdraw a submitted request. To correct or withdraw one, contact MPC and give its reference. You can also raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this notice
Material changes will be reflected in the app's linked notice before the changed processing takes effect.
